Last year, ZTE announced the first smartphone running on the Mozilla Firefox OS at MWC 2013, the ZTE Open. This year, ZTE has two new smartphones running Firefox OS, called the Open C and the Open II.
The Open C has a 4.0-inch, WVGA (800x480) display, dual-core 1.2GHz MSM8210 Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, 3 megapixel camera, 3G connectivity and a 1400mAh battery. The Open C will be initially launched with Telefónica in Venezuela and Uruguay during the second quarter of 2014.
The Open II has a 3.5-inch, HVGA 480x320) display, dual-core 1.2GHz MSM8210 Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 256MB RAM, 2GB internal memory2 megapixel camera, 3G connectivity and 1150mAh battery.
ZTE plans to ship more than one million Firefox smartphones this year and release a 4.5-inch Firefox smartphone by 2015.
