Amazon has released a new software update for the Fire that updates the OS to version 3.5.1.
The update brings several new features, including:
- Quick Switch feature to quickly switch between open apps or to close them, which can be launched by double tapping the Home button
- App Grid Collections, which lets you create folders in the app grid
- Carousel Pinning for pinning your favorite apps to the front of the home carousel
- Ability to create lenticular photos using 11 instead of just 3 images
- Ability to delete emails directly from the home screen with the enhanced carousel email
- High resolution video sharing over MMS or email with the improved video sharing feature
- Improved battery life
You can download the update from within the phone, or by downloading the update file from the link below and installing it using your computer.
